This episode was done around May of 2004, in Virginia and New York City.
I originally had the Masamni Desert Patrol speaking in "thee"s and "thou"s as well as using a more Germanic word order, in an attempt to show that they spoke a more archaic form of Kubbaki, cut off from the civilization to the south.
Then Ray Weisfeld (the only Honest Man in comics) told me they came across as sort of Amish Yodas, so I lightened up on it.
The Desert Patrol rank and file get paid by the head of each bandit killed. With that sort of economics driving things, "bandit" is sometimes whoever they say it is.
