This was done in July of 2006, in Birmingham, Alabama.
The ruined stairway was inspired by the one on the largest mound at Moundville, south of Tuscaloosa.
There is a man who hangs out in the Oak Hill Bar and Grill in Homewood who is a dead ringer for Tugurio. I did not intentionally pattern Tugurio after this person, but I do count myself lucky that he will probably never read this comic.
Beautiful comic timing .. especially the carefully placed "parvenu" and "Ipsofacto". And # 17 is coming.... wann?
